NFN Interim Executive Director

The North Far North Regional Consortium warmly welcomes its new Interim Executive Director, Jennifer Macarthy! Jennifer brings a wealth of management experience across many industries – including career education – and returns to Butte College after recent roles with the City of Chico and County of Butte. California’s Sierra College, Roseville Joint Union High School District to Offer Mechatronics Training at High School Level

In the U.S., California is the leading employer for electro-mechanical and mechatronics technicians. Training people to fill these roles domestically is critical for supply chain resilience. For the U.S. to compete globally, and bring manufacturing and innovation back to American soil, they need a skilled workforce that can operate and maintain complex systems. Recently, Sierra College, just outside Sacramento, Calif., and nearby Roseville Joint Union High School District teamed up to create a dual-enrollment partnership to start building that talent pipeline early – during students’ high school years.

Vision 2030: NFN Noncredit Regional Workshop

In collaboration with the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office, Woodland Community College, and the Foundation for California Community Colleges, North Orange Continuing Education is hosting the North/Far North Regional Noncredit Education Workshop on August 27^th. Intended audience includes campus leadership teams, including the CEO, CIO, CSSO, Research and Planning, Faculty Leadership, and Workforce Development Lead. Please share this opportunity with those within your college that may benefit from attendance. Participants will:

Identify student and workforce needs that can be effectively addressed through noncredit education.
Develop a customized blueprint for at least one noncredit pathway tailored to their campus.
Learn about the noncredit apportionment funding structure and additional financial resources available to support program development.
