| | | | | | | Pasture PrimeWorking Farm Provides Hub for Hands-on Learning at Yuba College:
For learners in Yuba College’s Veterinary Technology program, the idea of a “classroom” is something different than the typical rows of students staring at their screens. These future vet techs feel more at home in a pasture or a calving pen, trading laptops for lead aprons as they work on-site at Yuba College’s very own farm on the Marysville campus. “We have large animals on the college property that the students are able to work with and care for,” says Brittney Strong, a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) and instructor for Yuba College’s Vet Tech program. “The amount of hands-on training that our program ensures [is unique].”

| | WIN-ternshipsButte College LAEP Program Proves a Two-Way Success
Still, when Heather Cardwell and Kristina Rodriguez showed up to coordinate the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program for Community Action Agency of Butte County – at no cost to the agency – it must have felt like a bit of a cosmic event. Likewise, when Darian Scott arrived at Chico Montessori Children’s House ready for whatever preschoolers could literally throw at her, Director Sarah Livingston was thanking her lucky stars.
“She’s [so] confident in talking with the children and parents [and] has made so much improvement since beginning here in August,” says Livingston.

| | LinkedIn is a Weird, Workaholic Wasteland |
| — and a total gold mine for MicrosoftLinkedIn may not be the first platform you think of when you think about our modern obsession with social media. But the site’s strange mix of job postings, constant spam, professional advice you didn’t ask for, humble and not-so-humble bragging, as well as the occasional useful bit of professional connection or networking has quietly turned itself into a goldmine. Younger generations tend to reflexively reject spending time on the same online social media platforms as their parents (here’s looking at you, Facebook). But, unfortunately for the youth, you do tend to turn into your parents as you age, and LinkedIn is no exception. As Gen Z has entered the workforce, they seem to have no problem with the site, with the number of American Gen Z users on LinkedIn estimated to have risen 14% in 2024, per Insider Intelligence. But those younger users post on the site in a very different way.

| | What is CTE Teacher Preparation? |
| | Let our program assist you in credentialing Career Technical Education (CTE) teachers. CTE teachers enter the two year credentialing program with expertise in their Designated Subjects (DS) and are issued a preliminary credential. They are then eligible to begin teaching full-time, as a preliminary credentialed teacher of record. The DS:CTE credential allows the candidate to teach CTE courses aligned with the industry sector(s) outlined on their credential. These courses may include students in grades twelve and below, and in some instances, classes primarily organized for adults as part of a program in career technical, trade, or vocational education. Credentialing coursework focused on teaching pedagogy, mentorship, and learning about the history and promise of CTE. Tehama CTE Teacher Preparation Program |
