CTE Data Unlocked Experts:  10 Free Hours of Support for Colleges

Colleges that fulfilled CTE Data Unlocked training requirements are eligible for technical assistance.   While most colleges identified a topic for the ten hours of support in their template for funding and technical assistance, colleges can elect to devote their support to data analysis and goal setting for the local share of Strong Workforce Program funds instead. This document outlines the process that CTE Data Unlocked Experts will use to support college planning. Each college will be contacted during the week of August 29 to determine the desired content for technical assistance, ensure that eligibility requirements have been completed, and to connect colleges with their assigned Expert.

Click on the link below to find out more information, as well as find your CTE Data Unlocked expert assigned to your college:   CLICK HERE

The CTE Data Unlocked Experts will be at CCCAOE.  They will be conducting sessions on Monday and Tuesday Morning of the Conference (see Conference Catalog for times/conference locations).  They are also coming to each of the Regional Meetings.

Center of Excellence Updates

Looking for labor market data to support your regional and local planning for the Strong Workforce Program?

The COE has two tools to assist with the process.

 Regional Labor Market Assessment Reports

For faculty and administrators that prefer to see data on a page rather than manipulate/filter from a spreadsheet, this is the better tool.  Faculty/administrators can quickly locate the cluster of interest (ignoring the other 100+ pages in the report) and reference demand and training supply data by occupation group (i.e. production).

Far North Regional Labor Market Assessment

Greater Sacramento Regional Labor Market Assessment

 Supply and Demand Tables

For faculty and administrators that would like to conduct their own research, use the supply and demand tables.  These tables filter by region, county, occupation and TOP code. Access is restricted to California community college representatives.  The password is GetLMI (case letter sensitive). Access the tables here.

 Need more information?

Contact your regional director: Theresa Milan at milant@losrios.edu or (916) 563-3221.

Chancellor's Office Updates

We have good news to report from Washington, DC.

Today, the U.S. House of Representatives approved HR 5587, the Perkins Reauthorization, on a vote of 405-5-21. A new summary of the legislation will be available in a few days (I’ll make sure to forward it to you). Attention now shifts to the U.S. Senate, where the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee continues working toward its own bipartisan Perkins reauthorization bill.
