american river collegeAmerican River College is a state-funded community college, part of the Los Rios Community College District.  However, ARC’s history pre-dates the Los Rios District. It opened its doors as California’s 61st public junior college in 1955, but goes back to February 28, 1942, when Grant Union Junior College was established in Del Paso Heights to train civilian personnel for national service during World War II. In 1945 the name was changed to Grant Technical College.  Today, at over 30,000 students, American River College is among the largest community colleges in the state, and is looked upon as a leader in innovative programs and services. It transfers more students to UC Davis and CSU Sacramento than any other community college.

ButteCollegelogoButte College serves 13,000 students each semester and is a regionally accredited community college located just 75 miles north of Sacramento, nestled in the Sierra Nevada foothills. The Main Campus is a designated wildlife refuge, and rests on 928 acres making it one of the largest community college campuses in California.

Butte College offers a quality education where students can choose from over 160 academic programs. The College also offers degrees with guaranteed transfer to California State Universities—with 25 Associate in Arts for Transfer and Associate in Science for Transfer degrees. Butte College has the highest transfer rate to CSU, Chico, and many of our alumni have successful careers in fire, nursing, law enforcement, welding, business, computer science and more. consumnesThe college opened on September 14, 1970, with 1,800 day and 350 evening students. Facilities included the science building, automotive and technology complex, women’s physical education building, pool, and the library building. In September 1975, the Business/Social Science classroom building was dedicated, the first since the college opened. The computer laboratory, located there, is equipped with state-of-the-art computer equipment that supports many areas of the college curriculum.  There are more than 14,500 students enrolled at Cosumnes River College. The college offers approximately 176 degrees and certificates across 50 different occupational and transfer program areas.

corLocated on northern California’s picturesque Redwood Coast, College of the Redwoods is a community college that delivers excellent academic and career technical education. Established in 1964, CR serves a diverse population of communities in Del Norte and Humboldt counties as well as the northwest section of Mendocino and western edge of Trinity counties. CR’s main campus is located just south of Eureka in Humboldt County. Education centers are in Fort Bragg and Crescent City. Instructional sites can be found in Hoopa and Garberville. CR’s Community Education office is located in downtown Eureka.

CR offers a wide variety of accessible learning opportunities, including online classes and other distance education options. CR awards Associate of Arts and Associate of Science Degrees as well as a wide variety of career technical certificates for vocational and professional development. It is an accredited, two-year institution that has articulation agreements with major four-year universities. CR is committed to the success of each student.

CollegeofSiskiyousLogoCollege of the Siskiyous is located at the base of majestic Mt. Shasta in far northern California. One of the most beautiful campuses in the state, the primary campus is in the historic lumber town of Weed and is easily accessible from Interstate 5 and Highway 97. A second campus located in Yreka, 30 miles north of Weed.  The College is widely recognized for its excellent programs in the humanities and arts, sciences and technology, and in athletics. The natural environment of mountains, forests, lakes, and streams, serves as an outdoor workshop for many classes such as art, geology, life sciences, physical and recreational education. Bordering Plumas National Forest, the 256-acre campus hosts a variety of wildlife, including a resident deer herd. lake tahoe community collegeMountains, deep blue water, and sheer rugged beauty — Lake Tahoe. At 6,229 feet above sea level, Lake Tahoe Community College, set in the heart of South Lake Tahoe, is the highest college in California. Opened in 1975, approximately 3,000 students come through the doors each quarter. Beyond the classrooms and labs, the 164-acre wooded campus features a 192-seat black box theater, extensive art labs and a demonstration garden. A 26,000 square foot gymnasium with a dance studio and fitness education center and a student center, which includes a café and teaching kitchens for the culinary arts program were opened in 2002. In 2006, the college opened a new 27,000 square foot library and adjoining art gallery.

lassen community collegeThe forerunner of Lassen Community College began on May 4th, 1925, when the Junior College Department of the Lassen Union High School District was established and began conducting classes on the Lassen High School campus. A separate facility was created in 1941 and in 1947, because of increasing enrollment, a new building was constructed adjacent to the high school. The modern era of Lassen Community College began in March 1965 with the establishment of the Lassen Community College District and the separation from the high school district.  A separate Board of Trustees was elected and planning began for a new campus. That campus, located just north of Susanville on Highway 139, today consists of 165 acres and 39 buildings. It began operations in September 1971.In addition to classrooms, laboratories, and offices, it has a dormitory with a capacity of 108, a library, student union, computer rooms, a large gymnasium and outdoor recreation facilities.

mendocinoThe Mendocino-Lake Community College District was formed in September 1972 by vote of the citizens of the Anderson Valley, Laytonville, Potter Valley, Round Valley, Ukiah, and Willits Unified School Districts. Planning for the development of the initial offerings of the College occurred in the Spring of 1973, with the first classes offered in July 1973.  The grand opening in spring of 2013 of the $15 million Mendocino College Lake Center located on 31 acres at 2565 Parallel Drive was followed up by the North County Center opening in the fall of 2013 located at 372 East Commercial Street in Willits. Both centers provide new and exceptional facilities and enhanced educational opportunities for the residents of our region.

shasta collegeIn the Centennial year of California and Shasta County (1950), Shasta College opened its first campus.  There were 26 original faculty members.  Because of the diversified goals and needs of its students, Shasta College offers a wide range of programs and services, including counseling, tutoring, financial aid, performing arts and athletic events, student activities, veterans’ services, cultural events, lecture series, workshops, and art exhibits. We have extensive offerings on the Internet and through Interactive Television (ITV). Shasta College also offers instruction and student services at the Downtown Campus, Intermountain Campus, Tehama Campus, and Trinity Campus, with each location utilizing ITV and computer-assisted learning to supplement on site courses.  Fall 2015 was the 65th Anniversary of Shasta College, serving the north state with pride and distinction.

yuba collegeThe Yuba Community College District was founded in 1927. Yuba College opened on its current site, 2088 North Beale Road in Marysville, in September 1962. The campus currently includes 23 buildings and sits on 160 acres.  Yuba College has always maintained a strong partnership with area high schools and transfer universities, as is evident by its many articulated courses and programs. The college provides services to allow eligible 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students to enroll in college courses; these efforts assist students to plan and complete their college degrees through quality dual or concurrent enrollment, with less cost while working toward a two-year or four-year college educational goal.
